Raquel Ness | Founder of Ness Law - Lawyer Orillia

Raquel Ness, the Founder and Principal Lawyer at Ness Law, needs no introduction to the local community. Her spirited approach to the Orillia where she launched her career, sees her taking great pride in servicing Simcoe County residents with legal practices and networking across the city in an array of events.  She is the current Board Chair of Soldier’s Hospital Foundation, past President of the Chamber of Commerce and leads a team of eight at Ness Law.

As a Lawyer, Raquel’s passion lies in Real Estate Law and Corporate Law which can often be tied together, giving some clients a streamlined efficiency working with one team. To round out this holistic approach to life and law, Raquel and her team have established themselves in Wills and Estate legal services by offering compassion and affordability.  She is an advocate for making the legal changes you need as life changes with you and whole-heartedly believes in what has become the taglines of the firm “Supporting Your Next Move” and “Securing Your Future”.

Raquel has been practicing law for almost a decade, which gives her youthfulness in the industry where technology advancements and way law is being administered have become challenging for others, and in-depth experience in a variety of legal undertakings.

Raquel Ness cut her teeth in law at Downey Tornosky Lassaline & Timpano Law with a diverse practice covering many areas of law.  Under the watchful eye and leadership of Doug Downey (Currently MPP and Attorney General of Ontario) Raquel developed thorough expertise of real estate law, while she always enjoyed working as both a solicitor and a barrister having no fear of attending court.

Prior to attending law school, Raquel worked as a sales associate at Davenport Subaru Orillia learning valuable interpersonal skills that have given her strength in client rapport for high purchase items where clients need additional nurturing through their major purchase. This is not unlike supporting home buyers in their purchase, and she continues this rapport to help buyers and sellers understand all the fine print and the process of their transactions.

Raquel is the daughter of local entrepreneurs and spent much of her life working at Artech Promotional Products and Wear, helping her to understand the intricacies of running a business which she now relies on managing Ness Law, the team and the client requirements.

Through working with these businesses and their owners, Raquel was instilled with the importance of giving back to the community and has continued this etiquette using her business and community standing as a vehicle to support a number of initiatives and charities.  Additional to the Hospital foundation executive team this includes: Child Advocacy Centre (Past Board Member & Chair); Charlie’s Run (Major Event Sponsor, Organization Committee, Donor); Ripple of Kindness Orillia (Chapter Co-Founder); Oasis Fertility; Fertility Advocate and Lobbyist; along with making donations to local not-for-profits and sponsorship of charitable events.
